A Case of Chylomicronemia Syndrome in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Abstract
|
|
|
case of woman aged 20 year old with acquired typeⅠhyperlipoproteinemia and systemic lupus erythematosus is described. The patient presented with fasting chylomicronemia, hepatomegaly, abdominal pain suggesting incipient acute pancreatitis.
Treatment
with three sessions of plasmapheresis and concomittent use of steroid corrcted the finding of chylomicronemia syndrome. It is suggested that in this case, posibly dysglobulinemia due to systemic lupus erythematosus was associated with development
of
hyperchylomicronemia.
